Painter, Calligrapher and Seal Carver
 
Born November 1945
Currently lives in Shanghai
Mr. Qu has had a passion for painting, calligraphy and seal cutting since his childhood. Yimo Shen, a famous Chinese calligrapher was Mr. Qu’s tutor. Mr. Qu paints with accurate and sophisticated strokes. His paintings have an open and ebullient charm and are marked with elegance and refinement.
Mr. Qu’s works have been displayed in numerous Shanghai calligraphy and seal cutting exhibitions since the 1960s. His works have twice been selected to be presented and forever preserved at China ’s “Great Wall” South Pole Station.
In 1996, Mr. Qu was invited to present a lecture in Japan.
His positions include:
- Member of China ’s Association of Calligraphers
- Director of the Chinese Academy of Calligraphic Education
- Director of the Shanghai Haichai Poem Consortium
- Honorary chairman of the Fushui Calligraphy Association of Fuji County Japan
Mr. Qu Currently operates a vocational college in Shanghai
